Lise is brilliant, charming, and beautiful. She also intensely
dislikes meeting people, and even the prospect of spending an evening
with a mere handful of people she knows well makes her feel panicky
and exhausted. Courageous and self-sacrificing, she goes right ahead
and meets people anyway, to their lasting pleasure. Intensely curious
about the world and her sensations and perceptions of it, she will try
just about anything out of the ordinary without a triple-dog-dare. She
now has an extra sense and can speak eloquently on a broad and
multi-hued array of experiences. She is compassionate, deeply
religious, unfailingly honest, and humble. She loves the Arizona
desert, but loves her family more and has therefore consented to live
with them in the mountains near Santa Cruz in California.
